family members at the same address £2.00 each How and Why do we charge such a low
membership fee yet still generally give the same benefits as other clubs? By being a member of the 'Essex &
Suffolk Border MCC', you are eligible to ride in any open to Eastern Centre
or Well lets start
first with Why. This was instigated a number of years ago when it was
noted that generally our members fell into two groups: a) Competitors: It was felt that
competitors generally pay enough for their sport and many only join a club
out of necessity rather than the wish to be part of that club. b) Workers: Well why should anyone keen
enough to spend their time knocking in stakes or pegs or otherwise running
events have to pay for the privilege? Next comes How. Initially by aiming
to keep our general running costs to a minimum. Most expenses are directly or indirectly
attributable to an event and as such are budgeted for in that event. We
further keep cost down by meeting in a local Public House thereby avoiding
meeting room costs. Membership Costs just £3.00 If the Eastern Centre Gazette is required,
this is an additional £13.00,
covering 1st class postage each month. Membership can be obtained by contacting
